2004 Maggie Winners

The Western Publications Association 53rd Annual Maggie Awards April 23, 2004 - Marriott Hotel at Los Angeles Airport The Western Publications Association (WPA) celebrated another success Maggie year April 23, 2004 at the Marriott Hotel at Los Angeles Airport. Nearly 600 publishing professionals attended the awards dinner and ceremony, honoring excellence in magazine and electronic publishing in the west. 84 Maggies were awarded for editorial, design and promotional excellence. This years Maggie competition took in almost 1700 entries from magazines published West of the Mississippi River or distributed soley West of the Mississippi River. A multimedia show, long an anticipated tradition at the Maggie Banquet, featured this years Maggie entries, complete with high-tech graphics, visual effects and upbeat soundtrack. The Western Publications Association (WPA) is a non-profit trade association working to advance the business of print and online magazines in the western United States For more than half a century, WPA has represented magazine publishers and businesses within the publishing industry. For more than fifty years, the WPA has bestowed awards of merit to deserving individuals and companies whose work was deemed ìthe best of the westî in a wide variety of categories within the publishing industry. The Western Publications Association congratulates all the 2004 Maggie Winners and thanks them for their effort, hard work and dedication to the magazine publishing industry.
